The LGBTQ rights and liberation movement has had a long history here, from the historic sit-ins at Dewey’s restaurant in 1965, to the Annual Reminders at Independence Hall from 1965 to 1969, a precursor to today’s Pride marches. Here in Philadelphia, there is a lot to celebrate and recognize. The community fought back and let their voices be heard, and it sparked a movement for equality, visibility, and fair treatment for members of the LGBTQ community that continues today. Pride Month commemorates the 1969 riots at the Stonewall Inn in New York City, after police raided the bar and arrested many of its LGBTQ patrons. Since the anon that asked me about a gay man flag suggested one that was too similar to the butch lesbian flag. Was never meant to be a finalized design (especially since I’m nonbinary and bi), it was simply a suggestion Low/non-dysphoric trans people, and anyone else who may get excluded.īasically, any identity (that’s notcentered around harming people or animals) is amazing and valid. Lesbians (or anyone, really), GNC trans people, people who use the SAM, Neurogenders and neurorientations) pronoun noncomforming gays and I am fully supportive of allĪspec identities, “MOGAI” genders (including xenogenders, kingenders, I never want any of my flags being used to exclude part of the LGBTQAI+/MOGAI community. I am beyond pissed off at this, especially since I don’t remember anyone telling me it was stolen. Transphobes to exclude trans and nonbinary gay men. Also, it seems like it’s been co-opted by truscum and Wording it in a way that made people think it was made by them (andĪlso “official”).
